I mentioned this earlier under the dip powder section, but I did acrylic nails for over 20 years, since 9th or 10th grade! While they gave me that long, sculpted look I loved, acrylics were incredibly harsh on my natural nails. After two decades of use (and seeing hundreds of nail techs across dozens of salons), I can confidently say: almost everyone applies them the same way, and the damage adds up.These days, I don’t touch acrylics. You can get the same look, feel, and even the trendy designs using SNS (dip powder), without wrecking your nail bed. Also, just a heads-up: this is not a DIY-friendly method.
